University Wisconsin president, Patrick Ferry, will discuss and sign his
new book Faith in the Freshman. The memoir, based on his own life and
family, spans more than thirty years. As a college freshman, Ferry
loved basketball much like his young son who, as a college-bound young
man, was off to play for his school’s team. But his son faced a
challenge Ferry hadn’t: diabetes. Faith in the Freshman draws parallels
between the lives of father and son, explores the obstacles his son
would have to face, and contains important lessons on family, faith,
academics, and transformation.
